About ISSCO
Founded in 1992 by Professor Wang Gungwu of the National University of Singapore and with its first president Professor Wang Ling-chi of the University of California, Berkeley, ISSCO is a non-political, professional community dedicated to the study of Chinese diaspora. It supports research, publishes scientific work, and organizes conferences globally.
2024 Regional Conference
The next ISSCO Regional Conference, hosted by Universitas Kristen Maranatha in Bandung, Indonesia, will take place on November 7-8, 2024, with a city tour on November 9, 2024. This event will explore themes related to the Chinese diaspora in Southeast Asia, addressing their socio-economic, cultural, and political contributions and challenges.
